Launch Creates Buzz About College AidHCM Strategists designed a launch strategy to engage the higher education policy community, Congress, and the White House in a conversation on the reform of federal student aid. The Rethinking Student Aid study group, an independent team of policy experts, researchers, and higher education leaders convened by the College Board, spent two years studying federal support for higher education. The result is a set of proposals that can dramatically improve how students and their families think about, prepare for, and pay for college. HCM Strategists worked closely with the Rethinking Student Aid group and the College Board on a release strategy to communicate the complex policy recommendations and frame them in a compelling way. The launch was a great success, and the recommendations have received attention from major national publications, including USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, and The New York Times. They have also been covered in regional and college publications as well as in the trade press. HCM will continue to promote national dialogue on student aid through a series of regional forums and other efforts.
